7-29-84

Dear Diary, Its been a really good sabbath. We all went to church today with Bruce's family. We had a beautiful compassionate service lesson, also SS and a very spiritual Sac Meeting, such a large ward- it took Aaronic priesthood 10 boys to pass the Sac. We had a nap. We ate watermelon then we drove down to Randy's. We only saw him, Cynthia and the girls had gone to visit her brother. We just had a late supper- now to bed.

7-28-84

Dear Diary, We have had a wonderful day. First thing Audrey, Pa and I had a shower. We felt so much better. We helped Bruce and Anitra clean up the yard, washed up all the clothes. Anitra's folks came and brought cherries, the nicest freshest cherries so we canned 28 qts. Randy, Cynthia and the girls came to visit. We ate watermelon and fixed a big dinner and we all enjoyed it, so good to have some of the family together.

7-27-84

Dear Diary, We sure had a full days traveling. It was so cool last night in Nebraska, it was 49 degrees, a record low for this time of year. We got out of Neb. and all the way through Wyoming. We were going to stay at Ft. Bridge tonight but there was a group of young folks camping there so we drove on to Bruce's in Centerville UT. We got here near midnight. We are so very grateful for our safe trip. Bruce and Pa brought us in safely. Steve's 27th B'day!

7-26-84

Dear Diary, We left Neva's today about 9am. We had a good day traveling along enjoying the beautiful countryside. We drove the length of the state of Missouri and went across the corner of Iowa. We entered Nebraska and drove about 1/4 the way in and camped at a clean campground by a lake. We set up for the night, ate supper then Pa and I took a walk around. It is really cool in the 50s, a good night for sleeping.

7-25-84

Dear Diary, Please excuse my writing, we're in the van on the way west. We were off from home at 5am. We had a very good day traveling. We are following Bruce in his camper. Audrey , BJ and I have napped along the way. We got to Neva's about 8:30 pm found everyone fine. Bruce plugged in the air conditioner in the camper. Neva went to work about 11pm. We really slept good in their cool room. Audrey slept on the floor in one of the sleeping bags.

7-24-84

Dear Diary, We had to be to the lab in Selma at 8am. They did the blood work. I had breakfast at McDonald's then back to the lab 2 hrs after I ate. Then I saw the Dr. He said I should divide my insulin night and morning. I sure hate that but I will do it til we get back from our trip out west to see Steve get married. Bruce's family and we are all packed to leave in the morning. We are really happy and excited we are going by Neva's.

7-23-84

I canned Cynthia some okra and pickled the green beans for Opal Pope. I went to Mrs. Beatrice Crew's and spent too much money on Merle Norman cosmetics, she did a facial and helped me with the right colors, I hope. I go the doctor again tomorrow.

I'm still taking my medicine. Got a letter from Larry, cards for B'day and Father's day.

6-27-84

Dear Diary, I went back to the Dr. today. He said what he was worried about usually when you have this much infection you're blood sugar goes to 5 or 600, but mine only went to 300. That was the reason he didn't put me in the hospital and when it gets that high you usually go into a coma so when I get sick in any way I should go to the Dr immediately. I felt better around noon when I went back to the Dr. but tonight I've had another chill. I sure hope I feel better tomorrow.

6-26-84

Dear Diary, I wen tot he Dr. today. I knew my blood sugar was high but didn't realize I had so much infection. The Dr said I had bladder infection, then after he poked around on my stomach he said I had infection in the colon so he gave me a prescription for 500 mg of penicillin 4 times a day. For the last few days I have been having chills and fever. I go back to Dr Howell tomorrow.

6-25-84

Dear Diary, I am sure glad I've made an appt. with the doctor tomorrow because I feel sick. I can't imagine what's wrong with me. I ache all over. They didn't have any way to get to church so we went for them this eve. We left David here. The weather was bad and he was afraid. The old beech tree in the front yard lost one of its big limbs. We are so very grateful for all our blessings.

6-22-84

Dear Diary, We got a letter from Steve today. He seems pretty happy planning for their wedding. We have been busy, but the best thing I did today was I read a chapter in the B of M first thing today. It always gives you a very good day to do the things that we have been commanded to do. David is here with us so he's a big help to Heber in whatever he does. Its sure good to have someone with him at all times.

6-21-84

Dear Diary, Well this is the longest day of the year and I think it must be the hottest and dryest day. Heber gathered the vegetables so I fixed them in the cooler to take to Dora's. We took Audrey over to stay with Johnnie's kids at Dora's while Sue and Johnnie got to DC to bring Dora and sisters home. We stopped by the medical center to see my oldest sister who's 80 years. Audrey and I have cleaned down stairs today, then I watered late. It's still so dry Heber got a portion of the sceptic tank lid pit it on and covered it back up with dirt. Dear Diary, We left at 7am for church. Heber had a meeting at 7:30, after we got to church I took a nap. I fixed my face on the way over. We had a fairly good Father's day. Heber gets really upset at the way our ward is run. The Bishop ignores all that his counselors give him. Surely some day we will all do what's right and let the consequence follow. I tired hard to get the most out of our meeting.

6-16-84

Dear Diary, We have had a very interesting day. First I fed my roses before breakfast. I also started the charcoal before breakfast so we could bar-be-que before Johnnie's family left for Doris' and Johnnie was to catch the plane at 5pm for a school in Dallas. I talked to the family and told them we loved them and were hurt that they quarrelled so much. They committed themselves to try to do better. I also talked with Charlie and gave him some advice, he and Chuckie go home in the morning. Heber and the boys dug down to the septic tank. The man will clean it out tomorrow.

6-10-84

Dear Diary, I am truly grateful for the blessings of this day. We all went to church together and enjoyed it very much. I was called to give a talk in Sac. I was so emotional. I cried, Charlie being there and thinking how bad he needs the blessings of being active in the church and to think some of our members take their church callings so lightly. I sure love our Heavenly Father so much and also love our family and pray they will all get along good together. Steve just called tonight so I talked with he and Janette.

6-09-84

Dear Diary, I think I started the day off right, I got up early enough to study my Relief So. lesson in case I have to teach tomorrow.
