Dear Diary, We saw John, Audrey and children off about 7am. I sure hope they are safely home by now. We had our MI cadet speak in Sac today. He's only been a member 3 months and he made a better talk than some of our full time missionaries. Bishop Mott really called us to repentance today, he spoke also. We talked with Steve and Jeanette this eve. I gave her a dill pickle recipe. Steve had a little accident at work.

Dear Dairy, I'm not ired much tonight but I am sick. We have enjoyed having John and children some but hate to see Audrey go more than I ever have maybe it is because I am sick. I sure hate to see any of our family travel on the sabbath day. I sure hope they have a safe trip home and hope I feel like going to church tomorrow. Audrey and I watched the Miss America pageant. Miss Utah got it, our favorite.

Dear Diary, We went back to the Murcadine vines and got more. I've fixed the juice, we'll make the jelly later. John and the 4 youngest kids got here tonight. The kids were disappointed that Audrey wasn't here. I fed the kids and they went to bed. I know they were tired after 14 hours on the road. Tony came this eve, brought 2 tables and got a baby bed. Marsha did not come. I talked with Gina this eve. Patsy, Roger and Richard went to a special interest conf.

Dear Diary, I made the muscadine jelly this morning. I made 16 pts of good jelly. Heber brought home a new pick up truck, took me to ride in it. He decided he didn't want it. He has pulled several rows of corn today. He hogs the corn stalks after he pulls each row. The most important thing we've done today was to read the scriptures after supper. Audrey is at Linda Etheridge's. I heard very disturbing news that Janie and Ralph Stroud are divorcing.

Dear Diary, We, Heber and I went across the pasture and gathered muscadines about 2 or 3 gals. I wrote some b'day cards then we went to visit a friend. We spent about an hour or two, she lives alone and she said us coming made her day. I talked with Neva today. Dollie Graves called again so i told her I wouldn't be able to go with her to Germany. Heber has pulled lots of corn today. I learned Ben my bro-in-law had open heart surgery Monday.

Dear Diary, This almost seems like Sunday because we've spent most of the day at the chapel. We had around 20 people for our homemaking meeting. I made some felt veg. figures, put magnets on them to stick on the refrigerator. I gave them to friends. We sure had a nice luncheon. Everyone brought food except the 4 black sisters. We took Audrey to Linda's after we had shopped for groceries. She will stay there the rest of the week.

Dear Diary, 36 years ago today our Larry was born. 32 years ago yesterday we had a fat curly headed baby girl Neva come. We have several b'days in the month of Sept. I have spent most of the day making stew with vegetables and meats. I froze it. We enjoyed reading last night in the church news, lots of church history. They are restoring lots of the pioneer homes. We go to our homemaking meeting tomorrow at the chapel in Selma.
